Little Meyers Boone

This blog represents something special to me. It’s an introduction to some very important people in my life. My brother David and his wife Stephanie just had their first child, Little Meyers Boone. They live in Missoula, Montana where my brother David is a musician and his wife founded the Girl’s Way. My brother is one of the most creative people I know. He’s self produced nearly a dozen albums and toured the country with his music. Check him out at davidboonemusic.com. You will be glad you did.

Seeing David and Stephanie with Meyers reminded me of that experience. Having your first child has to be one of the most memorable and extraordinary experiences of life. It was a bonus that my first child, Alicia, was on the trip with me and helping me with the photo sessions. I was able to shoot these pictures after an engagement session a few weeks ago. Meyers is the 19th cousin of the Boone siblings. Soon we will have our child, making it 20 cousins in the Boone clan. Meyers is definitely a special kid. He was giving me newborn fistbumps and acting like a baby model. Little Meyers Boone

Sarah + John | Anniversary Session!

Sarah + John | Anniversary Session!. We photographed Sarah and John’s wedding nearly 3 years ago, though it doesn’t seem nearly that long ago. Anniversary sessions are probably my favorite type of session to shoot. Weddings are great, but they are so fast-paced. Engagement sessions are fun and exciting, but there is feeling-out stage. Anniversary sessions are awesome because, as with Sarah and John, we are already friends – so there is a comfort level that makes the session relaxed. I feel like I can explore a bit more creatively as well. This session certainly felt more like a double-date than a job, and Sarah even snapped a few pictures of Nelli and I. Banff National Park – Canada landscapes

This was the view from 9,200 in Banff National Park this weekend. The day before the wedding my brother and I had the chance to get some late season powder. I’m officially a huge fan of Banff. It is definitely one of the most beautiful places I’ve been. I hope have more time there one day.

Katie + Cody | Engaged!

Our engagement session with Katie and Cody was one of the first really nice evenings on the lake. I enjoy taking photos at Edgewater because it gives you a beautiful cityscape, nice walking paths and the lake at sunset. The most important aspect of an engagement session is being able to see your couple’s relationship through the lens. That’s what made this session with Katie and Cody so enjoyable. Nelli and I came up with a few ice-breakers to get to know them a little bit more. By the end of the evening we felt like close friends and you could definitely see how happy these two are together. Dan + Kelsey | Engaged!

Dan + Kelsey | Engaged! Dan and Kelsey are getting married next October. It seemed like we instantly connected with them. We had a great time with them on their engagement session walking around Cleveland and choosing our favorite backgrounds. Dan and Kelsey had several great ideas of their own. It was a beautiful evening. We will be looking forward to their Brookside Farms wedding. Here are some of our favorite images from our time together…
