The Barn at the Ranch Club | Stylized Wedding

This post is a big collaboration we have been working on for a while.  We thought it would be awesome to treat the wedding career students to a really nice stylized shoot at one of our favorite venues – The Ranch Club. It gradually grew into a bohemian inspired stylized shoot featuring 7 models, 16 photography students and an all-star collection of wedding day creative professionals. So before we treat your eyes to the final product, I want to give some serious shout-outs to everyone who made it happen.

Sarah and Jeanne and the whole team from RMSP – for supporting the idea to the fullest and helping us figure out all the logistics, and flow, and models and everything else…to turn this into an awesome educational experience.  Thank you!

Stephanie from Vintage 44 – for always being up to help make beautiful settings for weddings. Vintage44 is the go to resource for amazing vintage furniture and decor and meeting you has been like finding a treasure chest for our style and musings – especially for Nelli:).

Melissa from Earth Within – The beautiful flowers you see in these next photos, that’s Melissa.  Thank you for all the creative time you put into this.  We love how Melissa takes inspiration from all around Missoula to create beautiful bouquets.  And the olive branches!

Dani and Whitney from Cakes in the Zoo for the amazing naked cake adorned with figs and olive branches.  It looked exceptional, but it tasted even better:)

Mandy from Olive + Iron for the beautiful shoes and accessories.

Lauren from Velvet Bride for providing us with the awesome bridesmaid dresses.

Dana from Shear Art Salon for helping our models hair and make-up look stunning.

Our Models – Ashley, Andy, Max, Makayla, Alex, Grace and Alicia  – You were a big part of making this evening successful, and you made it fun for everyone!

As I write, this I’m filled with gratitude for being able to work with this team of creative entrepreneurs in the Missoula community.  In over a decade of photography, we’ve never done anything like this and it would not have been possible without you all.

So…Here are the images Nelli and I captured of the event…

Wait…first, Nelli, your multi-faceted creativity was in full display with the overall styling and especially with creating and sewing the wedding gowns.  And your pictures are pretty decent too;)  Mad props from hubby to wife 🙂

2015 Holiday Mini Sessions Recap

Our 2015 Holiday Mini sessions were a huge success!  These were the 2nd mini-sessions that we have organized since moving to Missoula.

We had 14 families come and we enjoyed getting to know all of you.  They were the 2 days after Thanksgiving and I think it was the coldest 2 days of this winter we have had yet!  The kids were such troopers and so adorable!

Families were able to spend time roasting marshmallows, sipping hot cocoa and warming by the fire.  We even had snow!   From the sessions, we made holiday cards and many wall art displays.  Our home has been like Santa’s workshop since!

Thank you to everyone you came out!  We are so happy to have met all of you and feel like we made new friends in the process:)

Jessica + Matthew | 1 YEAR!

Jessica + Matthew | 1 YEAR! Jessica and Matthew’s wedding a year ago was one of my favorite weddings. I remember editing the images was a difficult task because they were all looking good. They are really good subjects to photograph – naturals. I consider making people feel comfortable one of my strongest points and love using my camera to show the joy and beauty of people. These two make photography really easy. I like shooting weddings and engagements, but Anniversary sessions have to be my favorite of all. Isn’t it great to see a couple who is even more in love the next year? Marriage is a journey with an lot of ups and downs. Anyone who’s been married for very long will tell you that it’s not always easy, but love grows deeper through every trial and every tough decision. We have a tradition where couples hire people like me to help capture the celebration of marriage (falling in love) – the initial commitment. I think it would be great if couples utilized photography as a way of celebrating staying in love. That’s what Matthew and Jessica did. I hope you enjoy the images for Jessica + Matthew | 1 YEAR!…

Jason + Alison | Married

Through the years of capturing the memories of couples in love, I’m fairly certain that I have never seen a couple more excited to get married than Jason and Alison. They had a short engagement, but made the most of that time by planning one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever had the privilege to attend and document. The first time I sat down with these two I felt like I could talk with them for hours. They felt like friends almost immediately. We knew the flowers were going to be amazing. Once again, Peter Bouterse Studio made some exceptional arrangements from the orchids. The ceremony and reception were both held at the Intercontinental. The rooms looked elegant and classy. The highlight was witnessing Jason and Alison’s love for one another. I’m sure for everyone who witnessed Jason and Alison’s wedding day, it was a healthy dose of joy and inspiration….and orchids:) We are so thankful we could be a part of it. Here’s one of my favorites of the day pictures for Jason + Alison | Married.

Kyle + Allison | Married

Kyle + Allison | Married. Kyle and Allison had their wedding ceremony at the beautiful St. John’s Cathedral in downtown Cleveland and their reception at the Union Club. For a mid-November wedding, I think we were all pleasantly astonished by a perfect day. Though they had previously reserved a few spots to do indoor photos, we stayed outside the whole time and enjoyed one of the last warm days of the year. The week leading up to the event was difficult for Allison and Kyle. They lost power for several days following the storm and fought through some sickness, but they both agreed that the beauty of their wedding day made all the trials worth it. Here’s a look at one of my favorites from the day…Here is Kyle + Allison | Married photos.
